On the evening of September 9, the 13th BRICS Summit was held via video.  Chinese President Xi Jinping attended and delivered an important speech at the meeting in Beijing.  South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the meeting, which was chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  Xinhua/Yue Yuewei  

 

The five leaders fully affirmed the achievements in the past 15 years the brics cooperation that since this year faced with unprecedented challenges and complicated international situation, the five countries to fight COVID - 19 outbreak, promote cooperation in various fields achieved rich results, improve the position of emerging economies, is willing to continue to work together to deepen the brics strategic partnership,  We will work to achieve more practical outcomes in BRICS cooperation.  

 

Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa support China´s hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, its BRICS chairmanship in 2022 and its hosting of the 14th BRICS Summit.
