BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) --Chinese President Xi Jinping held a video meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Beijing on Monday afternoon.The two heads of state announced a joint statement, formally deciding to extend the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia.Putin warmly congratulated the Communist Party of China on the 100th anniversary of its founding.

Xi pointed out that China will soon celebrate the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia.The concept of lasting friendship enshrined in the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and conforms to the theme of our times: peace and development. It is a vivid example of building a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.Today´s China-Russia relationship is mature, stable and firm, and can withstand the test of any vicissituous international situation.

Putin said that the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China embodies the will of the two peoples to maintain friendship from generation to generation, and the relevant principles and spirit set out in the Treaty have played an important and unique role in the long-term and smooth development of Russia-China relations.The Russian side is satisfied with the unprecedent-high level of Russia-China relations and the comprehensive and steady development of bilateral cooperation.
