Geneva, Jan. 24 (Xinhua/Ling Xin)China has bucked the trend of a sharp decline in global foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2020 to become the world′s largest recipient of foreign investment, according to a report released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development on Thursday.
According to UNCTAD′s latest Global Investment Trends Monitoring Report, the total FDI in 2020 will be about US $859 billion, a 42% decline compared with that in 2019.China′s FDI bucked the trend, rising by 4% to $163 billion, overtaking the US to become the world′s largest recipient of foreign investment.
